Welcome to The EMERALD ACES website -
let the good times roll!
OK, we're boasting a little perhaps - so let's say the best in Europe! The idea of the Emerald Aces was born out of an "Irish" drinking session back in the late 90's. Founder member Robin Black, who was fronting a Rock and Blues band at the time, was having a few well-earned glasses of guinness after a gig. Anyway, someone came up to him and asked if he could get some people together to play some "diddly diddly" music on St Patrick's night? Never one to shrink from a musical challenge, and overcome with emotion and a few too many glasses of the dark stuff, he slurred "no problem, that could be a laugh" - and from this small beginning the Aces were born.
The make up of the band has changed several times over the years, but it seems that "once an Ace always an Ace"! Past members of the band are known to come back now and again and join the band for a number or two!
The Aces started off by playing only on St Patrick's night (and lets face it, a year between gigs does mean that you tend to get a little out of of practice) but despite special requests and demands from the public we decided to make our special talent available at weddings, birthdays, charity bashes and anywhere else that will have us.
We have extended our repertoire to include some rock, country and popular sing-along songs. The sort of band who will try anything once, within reason. One thing, "to be sure", it's usually a foot-tapping enjoyable experience not easily forgotten. So now everyone can enjoy the Emerald Aces. Contact us for more information or a booking. Check out our forthcoming gigs. Thumb through the playlists or get an earful of the kind of thing we do. Whatever - just enjoy the site and Craic!
What's that you say about the Trades Description act? Very well - we certainly may be the best Irish band in the UK!
Southern England?, London?? Croydon???
Look - we are without doubt the best Irish band in a small cul-de sac in Wallington - and that's that!
